Just occasionally we stumble across some real nautical gems and Meta IV is one of those happy coincidences. Stunning lines with a proper sheer on the hull (that's the curve from bow to stern which gives a beautiful yacht its unique charm) Meta IV was designed by the naval architect Thomas E. Colvin. She is built entirely of Thai teak, one of the best woods for building classic boats and one that is now rarely used.
She was constructed in 1998 as a private yacht for a Swiss businessman who made his fortune in hotels. In 2010, the Austrian skipper Herbert Mayrhauser found her at a pier in Phuket and immediately fell in love. After two years of intensive restoration work and refitting, Meta IV started her new life as a luxury charter vessel in the fall of 2012.
Meta IV measures 25meters or 85 feet in length. Spacious, yet with superb facilities on board, she provides a holiday getaway that her guests will never forget. Four crew (with an Austrian skipper) look after just 8 guests. Meta IV can carry 11 but only charters with 8 for superb service and the crew will do everything possible to make the trip an amazing experience. She operates for much of the year in the Mergui Archipelago of Myanmar (Burma)
